Please read our descriptions carefully when purchasing this line of product. We sell this merchandise based upon a small percentage of the wholesale value (retail value where applicable).
Loads usually have a mixture of National Brand names and Private Labels (brands owned by the specific vendor). Pallets generally start at around $200 up to truckload pricing of $8,000 – $14,000. We have several fob points (shipping locations), making it more affordable to ship product to your location.

This is sold by ‘representation’ which is the condition of the merchandise and the product categories included in a shipment. When you receive your shipment you should expect the product to be delivered as represented. We work hard to accurately represent each shipment through manifest details and images when available.
Example:
This is assorted General Merchandise customer returns from a store made up of 24 pallets of mostly hard items, with no food items, no perishables and no clothing. Generally, with these types of truckloads, there is a waste factor of 20 – 25%. The price is based on 22% of the wholesale price of $50,000.
Grocery, Health & Beauty
Large pharmacies like Walgreens, Rite Aid, and CVS are very common and seen on the busiest street corners in towns across the country. Not only do they fill prescriptions and sell OTC meds, they now offer wide varieties of general shelf merchandise. As with all companies that retail, they too have a need to pull older items from their shelves to make way for newer incoming stock. It doesn’t matter that many of the products being pulled are in perfect condition.
This is your opportunity to get some of the hottest selling items now available for your store or business. AML has pallets and truckloads of these assorted merchandise from stores similar to these giant pharmacy chains. Often there are manifests for each pallet available for your review prior to purchasing.

Sports & Outdoors
This product line is sold as customer returns and shelf pulls. A truck could contain any item found inside of a big box sporting goods store. Sporting goods truckloads can offer great profits so long as costs are kept down and the quality of the merchandise is good. For this reason, we recommend direct shipped loads (shipped directly from the retail chain stores distribution center).

Condition
These loads are typically either sold as Customer Returns or Catalog / Dotcom Returns. Catalog / dotcom returns are usually much cleaner with less damage and throwaway which sell for a slightly higher percentage of the wholesale price. The customer returns loads are less expensive to buy, but normally have an attrition rate of between 15% and 25%. Both types of loads have been well received by our customer base over the years, with excellent profits being realized.
Truckload prices range from $5,000 to $24,000 and the selling price is calculated based upon a small percentage of the wholesale value. Truckloads usually contain 24-32 pallets, some being double-stacked.

Catalog and store returns
In order for a product to be considered a return, it must have been sold initially.
As a consumer, you’re well aware of the nature of returns. Sometimes a customer makes a return for a simple reason such as they have a duplicate of an item, they changed their mind or at the end of the day, they simply couldn’t justify the cost of the item. Other times, customers return items because the products were missing pieces directly from the manufacturer or because the item didn’t work as advertised.
Some of our customers may view catalog returns and customer returns as a double-edge sword. But, since American Merchandise Liquidators, Inc. doesn’t retail products, we put that worry to rest! Some liquidators wholesale and retail products, leaving their wholesale customers lots that have been cherry-picked and, many times, with a shipment that is barely saleable, driving their costs up and their profits down. When you purchase catalog and customer returns from American Merchandise Liquidators, Inc., you can be certain that your truckload, pallet, or block won’t have the “good” items removed, leaving you with product that has to be repaired prior to sale or is unsellable altogether. We are in business to help your business grow and increase its profits!
Dotcom (online) returns
In the liquidation industry, there are two types of returns: retail returns and online returns (“dotcom returns”). While it’s true, both sets of merchandise have been in the possession of another person, dotcom returns tend to be goods close in quality to closeouts and shelf pulls, but at a lower cost than the higher quality items.
Most dotcom returns don’t require repackaging or repairing and most returns are due to buyer’s remorse from ordering the wrong color, or ordering the wrong size, generally nothing related to the product’s quality. Therefore, most items that are returned from a online merchant are higher quality than average, particularly returns from a brick and mortar store and, better yet, most of the new products that are dotcom returns come in their original packaging. And, higher quality merchandise allows resellers the ability to price items at a higher price, netting more profit for your business!
Some may be a bit hesitant to purchase dotcom returns and that’s understandable. After all, dotcom returns are still products that have been returned. However, if you decide to delve into the dotcom return world, don’t judge the whole dotcom return landscape by just one pallet.
Manifested pallets and truckloads
While you never know exactly what you’ll receive in a dotcom return pallet, there are ways to minimize your risks. Most of our dotcom return pallets have manifests to browse prior to purchasing which can reveal a lot of information to you such as the original product price. This helps you to get a good feel of what your profit margin may be for particular items. For the dotcom pallets that don’t have manifests, they are generally offered at a lower overall price.
Although there’s no guarantees with any business model, dotcom returns can add a lot of value to your bottom line and allow you to build a reputable, long-term business. With products in categories ranging from lawn and garden, automotive, clothing, and general merchandise, you’re sure to find something great for your resale business!
Overstocks and closeouts
Overstocks and closeouts is were a company will order too much inventory than they sell within a specific period of time, leaving them with excess product. Generally, overstocks and closeout products are brand new items, in first-quality condition but may be a little shelf worn.
Typically these overstock items tend to be less varied in their assortment, and come from one manufacturer and each pallet, truckload or lot tends to be from one main category.
We negotiate with manufactures and retail companies to secure these overstocks and closeouts at a fraction of the cost and always below industry norms. Because of the outstanding condition of most of overstocks and closeouts, your business can quickly inventory the products and have them ready for sale immediately, eliminating the need for additional employees’ time resources, which means immediate profit for your business!
Salvage
Salvage items generally refer to items that were in high demand at a particular point in time and have slowly changed in demand to be no longer popular. Sometimes that means companies will accumulate a storehouse of items somewhere in their warehouse.
While the term ‘salvage’ may conjure up images of broken, heaps of junk, these items can be one of the most profitable items to stock your brick and mortar or virtual store with. Salvage simply means that the company has lost track of the real value of the goods and, in some cases, may have even lost track of what the goods actually are.
We negotiate the prices of these salvage items down to below industry norms and pass these incredible savings to our customers, you.
Shelf pulls
Shelf pulls are overstocks and surplus inventories from various companies, online retailers and big-box retail stores who’ve decided to clear their shelves and make room for more merchandise. Since most companies and big-box retailers clear their shelves all at once, shelf pulls tend to be sold in large lots.
A few things to keep in mind when purchasing a shelf-pull lot:
- Remember why they’re called shelf-pulls: The merchandise has been sitting in their inventory and on their shelves for an unspecified period of time. That could mean a couple of different things, perhaps there was no real market for the items or perhaps the company or big box retailer over-estimated the quantity they would sell in a specific period of time. If the products didn’t sell for a reason, you may never know that fact or even why until you receive the merchandise.
- If a company or big box retailer had a problem selling the products, as a reseller you may too. However, if the company simply thought they would sell more products within a specific time and they ran out of time- you may just hit the jackpot! Either way, it’s best to know the risks before buying truckloads of shelf pull inventory.
- Some shelf pulls may have been handled a bit more than other categories of liquidation and, therefore, may need a bit more care in preparation. Typically, shelf pulls have been marked down multiple times and may need more price tags removed to be suitable and ready for resale. Also, since most of the items were sent back from a retailer to a centralized warehouse, they can show signs of heavy handling. Packaging on shelf pulls may be scratched, damaged or even destroyed.
